This product, also known as tazobactam, is a derivative of sulbactam. It is an irreversible competitive β-lactamase inhibitor. Both β-lactamase and chromosome-mediated β-lactamase produced by Proteus, Bacteroides, Klebsiella and other bacteria have strong inhibitory effects. The inhibitory effect is better than that of clavulanic acid and sulbactam, and also has inhibitory effect on some chromosome-mediated type I enzymes. It has little effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other Pseudomonas and Serratia. Only weak antibacterial activity.

1. Penicillane sulfone β-lactamase inhibitors are effective for all types I to VI 3-lactamases, especially for type I enzymes. It has low toxicity, good stability and strong inhibitory activity. It is clinically used to treat infections caused by a variety of bacteria, including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including lower respiratory tract infections, skin and abdominal infections.

2. β-lactamase inhibitor, the third-generation antibacterial strong synergist, combined with piperacillin or cefoperazone can enhance the efficacy and prolong the action time of both. When used in combination with piperacillin sodium, tazobactam sodium has obvious synergistic effect and is widely used in the treatment of severe systemic and local infections, abdominal infections, lower respiratory tract infections, soft tissue infections, sepsis, etc. The compound agent has a wider antibacterial spectrum and indications, showing great advantages in overcoming drug resistance.

3. It is a β-lactamase inhibitor and a third-generation antibacterial strong synergist. Combination with piperacillin or cefoperazone can enhance the efficacy and prolong the action time of the two.
