It is easily soluble in methanol or acetonitrile, easily soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in ether, and very slightly soluble in water. Acute toxicity LD50 male and female mice, male and female rats (mg/kg): >10000, >10000, >2000, >2000 subcutaneous injection; 3502, 2535, >4000, >4000 intraperitoneal injection; >8000, > 8000, >4000, >4000 orally.

Cefpodoxime axetil is a cephalosporin antibiotic with significant antibacterial effects (including G+ and G-) in vivo, and interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins 1A, 1B, 2 and 3. Cefpodoxime axetil has potent antibacterial activity in vivo and is commonly used clinically for the treatment of respiratory, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue infections. Cefpodoxime axetil is effective against Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Morganella, Proteus, Salmonella, Serratia, Shigella, etc. belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. The G-in vitro antibacterial effect was significant. In the treatment of infections caused by penicillin-resistant Escherichia bacteria, the combined use of cefpodoxime axetil and cefpodoxime is more effective than cefpodoxime axetil alone; penicillin-sensitive or coagulase-negative staphylococci, methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, Penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, Staphylococcus Warner, A Streptococcus, B Streptococcus, C Hemolytic Streptococcus, G Hemolytic Streptococcus, Penicillin-resistant Streptococcus are sensitive to cefpodoxime proxetil.
