B pyridoxine, also known as pyridoxine or anti-pellagra vitamin, scientific name 2-methyl-3-hydroxy-4,5-dihydroxymethyl pyridine, common name pyridoxine hydrochloride, usually used as its hydrochloride For the preparation, white or slightly yellow crystalline powder, melting point 204-206 ℃ (decomposition). Soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in ether. It has a sour and bitter taste, is stable in the air, changes in quality when exposed to sunlight, and is easy to sublime. It is reddish-brown with ferric chloride. Exist in rice bran, vegetables, yeast, molasses, fat, etc. It can be synthesized from methyl methoxyacetate, acetone and ethyl cyanoacetate. It is used for the prevention and treatment of pregnancy vomiting, radiation sickness vomiting, isoniazid poisoning and gastrointestinal reactions of antitumor drugs, and sometimes also used as adjuvant therapy for pellagra and other malnutrition.

White crystalline powder, odorless, sour and bitter taste, sublimation when heated. The dry product is stable to air and light, and the aqueous solution is gradually oxidized and discolored when exposed to air, and the oxidation is accelerated with the increase of pH value. Mp205-209 ℃ (decomposition), maximum absorption (0.1mol/LHCl) at 290nm±1nm wavelength. Easily soluble in water (1:4.5), the solution is acidic, slightly soluble in ethanol (1:90) and acetone, insoluble in ether and chloroform. Low toxicity, LD50 (rat, oral) 4000mg/kg.
