Vitamin K3 is white or off-white crystalline powder, agglomerates after hygroscopicity, easily soluble in water and hot ethanol, insoluble in ice ethanol, insoluble in benzene and PH4.7-7. Stable at room temperature, easily decomposed when exposed to light. Vitamin K3 is a procoagulant drug, which can be used to treat some bleeding diseases caused by vitamin K deficiency. Vitamin K3, also known as menadione, can promote the formation of prothrombin and also has diuretic properties. It can lower blood pressure, and sometimes vitamin K3 is used as a coloring agent or food additive.
