Pranoprofen is an anti-inflammatory used in ophthalmology.   General Description

Pranoprofen is an arylalkanoic acid and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Pranoprofen (7), the chemical name is α-methyl-5H-[1]benzopyrano[α,3-b]pyridine-7-acetic acid, is a product of Welfide Company (formerly Gifford Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. , now Mitsubishi Pharmaceutical) developed a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug; Qianshou Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. developed it as an eye drop, which was listed in Japan under the trade name Niflan in 1981; among them, tablets and capsules are used for anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory drugs for many diseases. Analgesia, such as chronic rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low back pain, periarthritis of shoulder, neck-shoulder-wrist syndrome, periodontitis, gout, etc. It is also used for analgesia and anti-inflammatory after surgery, trauma and tooth extraction , and antipyretic and analgesic for acute upper respiratory tract infections; eye drops can be used for symptomatic treatment of the external eye and front of the eye (blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, superficial scleritis, iridocyclitis, Postoperative inflammation), but also for the treatment of cataract, laser iridectomy, excimer laser subepithelial keratomileusis and other surgeries, as well as the treatment of dry eye.

It has the effect of inhibiting the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, stabilizing lysosomal enzymes and inhibiting the secretion of lysosomal enzymes. 1. Analgesic effect: This product has pain response to silver nitrate arthritis (rats) RandallSeliffo method (rats), concanavalin A arthritis (rats), caused by phenylquinone method (mice). Inflammatory pain, and persistent pain in ovalbumin-induced allergic arthritis (guinea pig), showed stronger inhibitory effects than indomethacin, ibuprofen, and aspirin. 2. Anti-inflammatory effect: (1) Effect on acute inflammation: on foot edema (rats, mice) caused by carrageenan and kaolin, showing stronger inhibitory effect than ibuprofen and aspirin and equal to indomethacin ;Exudative reaction to Evans blue-carrageenan pleurisy (rats), showed stronger inhibitory effect than indomethacin, ibuprofen, aspirin; showed stronger inhibitory effect than indomethacin, ibuprofen Fen, aspirin stronger inhibitory effect. (2) Effect on chronic inflammation: It has stronger inhibitory effect than ibuprofen and aspirin on granuloma formed by cotton ball method (mice and rats) and has the same inhibitory effect as indomethacin. 3. Antipyretic effect: It has stronger inhibitory effect on fever (rabbit) caused by TTG (complex polysaccharide from Pseudomonas aeruginosa) than indomethacin, ibuprofen and aspirin, and has little effect on normal body temperature. 4. Effects on prostaglandins at the site of inflammation: Patients with deforming knee joint disease were found to have a low concentration of prostaglandin E in knee joint fluid after taking 225 mg orally every day for 2 weeks.
