Avibactam (avibactam, NXL-104) belongs to the diazabicyclooctanone compound and is currently the most promising non-beta-lactam inhibitor. It has no obvious antibacterial activity, but can inhibit type A ( Including ESBL and KPC) and C-type β-lactamases. Therefore, when used in combination with various cephalosporins and carbapenem antibiotics, it has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, especially against Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae containing extended-spectrum β-lactamase, and those containing excess AmpC enzyme. E. coli and E. coli containing both AmpC and extended-spectrum β-lactamase showed significant activity.
