【Chemical Properties】Light yellowish brown powder with very low solubility in water. Doramectin is used to treat ectoparasitic diseases such as nematodes and mites in livestock. It is obtained by fermentation of a new strain of Streptomyces avermitilis by genetic recombination. The main difference from ivermectin is that C25 is substituted by cyclohexyl. , is a new, broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug, which is highly effective against gastrointestinal nematodes, lung nematodes, eye worms, lice, ticks, mites and wound maggots. Arthropods also have a good repellent effect, but are ineffective against tapeworms, flukes and protozoa. Its mechanism of action is mainly to increase the release of the inhibitory transmitter gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the worm, thereby blocking the transmission of nerve signals, making the muscle cells lose their ability to contract, resulting in the death of the worm. The peripheral neurotransmitter of mammals is acetylcholine, which is not affected by doramectin. Doramectin is not easy to pass through the blood-brain barrier, and has minimal damage to the central nervous system. It is relatively safe for livestock. The main feature is that the plasma concentration and half-life are higher or twice longer than those of ivermectin. The United States has approved injections for cattle and pigs and pouring agents for cattle.
