Genistein is a light yellow crystalline powder; it is slightly odorous and has a bitter taste. Genistein has estrogen and anti-estrogen properties, has antioxidant effects, can inhibit the activity of protein tyrosine kinase (PTK), can inhibit the activity of topoisopurase II, induce programmed cell death, and improve anti-cancer. It is a potential cancer chemopreventive agent, and its anticancer effect and mechanism have broad application prospects.

Genistein, also known as genistein, is a polyphenolic compound found in plants such as soybean and red clover. Its molecular structure is similar to 17β-estradiol, and it has antioxidant properties and estrogen receptors. Because the activity of isoflavones is 1/1000 of that of estradiol, it competes with estradiol to bind to estrogen receptors, showing a two-way regulatory effect, and the estrogenic effect produced is much lower than the harmful effect of estradiol, which in turn has a negative effect on hormones.
